Our History:

Rooted in Family, Growing Strong

Welcome to Windsor’s Nursery—where plants thrive, dreams occasionally wilt, and we’ve been digging in (sometimes literally) since 1983.

It all started with Benny and Connie Windsor, who thought lawn care and landscaping sounded like a great idea—because apparently, they weren’t busy enough. What began as a simple 120-yard-a-week lawn care service quickly evolved into a backyard side hustle, growing hanging baskets, containers, and poinsettias behind their house. Every Mother’s Day, they’d roll out their floral masterpieces, and let’s just say, things got intense. Picture Black Friday, but with petunias instead of TVs.

As demand grew, so did their ambition. By 1998, the business had outgrown its humble beginnings, and Windsor’s Retail Nursery was born. Benny and Connie, along with their daughter Jamee and her soon-to-be husband, Ryan (who had no idea what he was signing up for), went all in. The nursery became more than just a place to buy plants—it became a local staple, known for quality, expertise, and a little bit of fun along the way.

But just as things were blooming, life threw a devastating curveball. Benny was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away a year later. As if that wasn’t enough, some people in the horticultural world seemed to be betting against them, dubbing them the widow and kids who will never make it.” Because, you know, nothing motivates like doubt.

Spoiler alert—they didnt just make it. They thrived.

With grit, passion, and sheer determination (plus more caffeine than they care to admit), Jamee, Ryan, and Connie pushed forward, proving every naysayer wrong. Over the years, Windsor’s Nursery evolved into a full-fledged retail garden center and a commercial and residential landscaping powerhouse, balancing creativity with decades of experience.

But Windsor’s has always been about more than just plants—it’s about people. It’s about community. It’s about creating spaces where people can gather, relax, and reconnect with nature. Whether you’re looking for an Instagram-worthy Windsor Grown hanging basket, trying to figure out why your ficus is staging a protest, or simply want to wander through a place filled with expertise, fresh air, and good vibes, you’ve found it here.

Now, decades later, Windsor’s Nursery is still owned and operated by Jamee and Ryan, continuing the legacy that Benny and Connie started. And while things have grown (literally and figuratively), one thing has never changed—Windsor’s is still the place where plants, people, and passion come together.

So, swing by, grab a plant, chat with our plant-loving crew, and experience the Windsor’s way—because around here, we dig what we do.
